We are a flexible, family friendly NHS doctor’s surgery. We are currently registering new patients.
We are open, 8am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. Turner Road Surgery is based in the primary care centre on Turner Road, Colchester, next to Colchester General Hospital. There is a regular bus service from the town centre and parking available on site.

We provide appointments both in advance and on the day and have a duty doctor available for urgent matters. We have a range of healthcare professionals at the centre who can help you, from doctors and nurses to healthcare assistants.
Services to suit you
When you register as a patient with us you can take advantage of our full range of services. You can choose a male or female health professional, giving you complete confidence. You can also book same day appointments. These are released at 8am each day for non-routine issues. You can also book in advance to see a GP of your choice, and appointments can be booked up to four weeks in advance. We offer telephone consultations and have an online booking system and SMS text messaging service.
Online services through SystmOnline
SystmOnline allows you to book appointments, order repeat prescriptions and view your medical record online.
SystmOnline is also available as an app, which can be used on Apple devices (iPhones and iPads) and on Android devices (mobile phones and tablets). The app can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store and from the Google Play Store. Simply click the relevant logo on the SystmOnline login page.
SystmOnline is only available from within the UK. You cannot access SystmOnline from abroad.
Carers information and advice
A carer is someone of any age who gives care and support to a person who is ill, frail or impaired. A carer can be a friend, relative or even a neighbour. You don’t have to be an adult to be a carer young carers are people aged under 18 and may not realise they are a carer.
If you need some support or help including advice and guidance around your caring role please let us know so that we can make a note on your record for future projects that may be of interest to you as a carer. You can also make a self referral to Essex County Council at www.essex.gov.uk or phone them on 0345 603 7630. They will help with advice including financial support that you may be entitled to.
