Carers Information and Advice

A carer is someone of any age who gives care and support to a person who is ill, frail or impaired.  A carer can be a friend, relative or even a neighbour. You don’t have to be an adult to be a carer – young carers are people aged under 18 and may not realise they are a carer.

If you need some support or help including advice and guidance around your caring role please let us know so that we can make a note on your record for future projects that may be of interest to you as a carer.  You can also make a self referral to Essex County Council at www.essex.gov.uk  or phone them on 0345 603 7630.  They will help with advice including financial support that you may be entitled to.
